From gorgeous small towns like Charleston to exciting cities like Atlanta to the beautiful coastline of Florida, there are plenty of food festivals that will make your Summer traveling more fun and flavorful.

The Food Festivals of Georgia
Georgia is known for peaches and gorgeous weather, but the food festivals in Georgia are fun from Spring to Summer.
Atlanta Ice Cream Festival – Well, I had to start with one of the festivals that is near and dear to Paul’s heart. Ice Cream is the one food that he could live on day in and day out. What better way to spend seven hours in July at a festival than to sample all the different varieties of ice cream? They even have live fitness activities to help you feel good about eating ice cream all afternoon.
Georgia Peach Festival – This is a great festival, held at the end of May, that gives you a great look into the peach-growing industry. The peach is the most iconic fruit from Georgia, so come and enjoy all the different varieties and ways to use peaches in your cooking adventures. Events include a peach-themed parade, peach cooking contests, live entertainment, and, of course, plenty of opportunities to sample delicious Georgia peaches and peach-inspired dishes.
Georgia Blueberry Festival – Blueberries are an important part of certain parts of Georgia. This festival, held in June, is a great way to celebrate the harvest of the freshest blueberries you can find. They have pie-eating contests and blueberry plants to buy and start your own blueberry crop. This festival event has a blueberry murder mystery scavenger hunt!

Food Festivals of Florida
Florida is known for its great weather and gorgeous sandy beaches, but it also has food festivals that are fun and tasty to check out.
Key Lime Festival – The Key Lime Festival is everything Key Lime. Held in Key West in July, the birthplace of the Key Lime pie, this festival offers a Key Lime pie hop and a Key Lime cocktail sip and stroll. If you like or have wanted to try true Key Lime pie, then this is the festival for you.
Jacksonville Tomato Fest – This June festival is one of the best tomato festivals in the Southeast. You can enjoy lots of different varieties of tomatoes and different tomato activities, including the Bloody Mary contest, the Miss Tomato pageant, and the famous tomato salsa contest.
Boca Burger Battle, A Grilling Affair – If you like burgers, then this festival is for you. This festival, held in July, is everything burgers. Ticket holders get unlimited burgers, bites, beer, wine, and spirits to enjoy in the Florida sun. There will be a grill master competition and tasting for all festival goers.
Food Festivals of South Carolina
When it comes to good southeastern food, nobody does it better than in South Carolina.
World Famous Blue Crab Festival – Located at the Historic Little River Waterfront in South Carolina, the 42nd Annual World Famous Blue Crab Festival, held in May, is one of the largest festivals in the Southeast. Eventgoers will enjoy plenty of great blue crab samplings and lots of live entertainment.
South Carolina Festival of Discovery – This is a fantastic family event. It’s held in July and has such a busy schedule of events. Hot dog eating contests, barbeque competitions,
Charleston Wine and Food Festival –The Charleston Food Festival is a ticketed event. You can buy tickets for the day, the weekend, or the premium weekender. The festival features beer gardens, food and wine pairings, samples, shopping vendors, and live entertainment.
Food Festivals of North Carolina
Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival—This festival is all about BBQ and Bourbon. There will be pairings, samplings, live entertainment, crafts, and beer. What better way to enjoy some good old Southern cooking?
Watermelon Festival – If you like watermelon, then this is the festival for you. This event starts with a watermelon parade and includes live local entertainment, demonstrations, and a watermelon eating contest. If you are looking for a really fun festival to go to with the whole family this Summer, this would be a good one to start with.
Fried Apple Pie Festival – This festival is in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Fried pie is an Appalachian cooking tradition. There will be fried apple pie eating contests, cooking demonstrations, and plenty of different fried pies to enjoy and purchase.
